The Southeast Region STD/HIV Prevention Training Center (SEPTC) is a joint project of the Florida Department of Health’s Bureau of STD Prevention and Control, the University of South Florida College of Medicine - Division of Infectious Disease and International Medicine, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) through grant funding under CDC program announcement PS06-606. SEPTC offers training for healthcare providers in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) including HIV.

Beginning April 2006, the CDC selected the Southeast Region STD/HIV PTC and the Alabama/North Carolina STD/HIV PTC to provide STD and HIV educational programs in the indicated states. Information about the training sites is found below.

The National Network of STD/HIV Prevention Training Centers (PTCs) is a CDC-funded group of regional centers created in partnership with health departments and universities. The PTCs are dedicated to increasing the knowledge and skills of health professionals in the areas of sexual and reproductive health. The National Network provides health professionals with a spectrum of state-of-the-art educational opportunities, including experiential learning with an emphasis on prevention.
