The Southeast Region STD/HIV Prevention Training Center (SEPTC) is a joint project of the Florida Department of Health’s Bureau of STD Prevention and Control, the University of South Florida College of Medicine - Division of Infectious Disease and International Medicine, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) through grant funding under CDC program announcement PS06-606. SEPTC offers training for healthcare providers in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of STDs including HIV.

The National Network of STD/HIV Prevention Training Centers (PTCs) is a CDC-funded group of regional centers created in partnership with health departments and universities. The PTCs are dedicated to increasing the knowledge and skills of health professionals in the areas of sexual and reproductive health. The National Network provides health professionals with a spectrum of state-of-the-art educational opportunities, including experiential learning with an emphasis on prevention.
